"Brunhilda"

8-string. 28.6" scale. Mahogany wings on maple/walnut neck-through. Maple fretboard, single EMG 808 bridge pickup. Single volume knob, no tone.

I really like the combination of excessiveness (8 strings, baritone scale) with absolute minimalism (one pickup, no inlays, no tremelo, natural finish, single volume knob and no tone circuit).

I tune it to Drop-E (EBEADGBE low to high) which gives me the full range of a bass guitar and a regular guitar all in one instrument. It's surprisingly comfortable to play. The baritone scale actually balances out the extra width and the result is a more comfortable feel than a 7-string at 25.5 inches.

My only complaint is that the fretwork isn't the greatest. No buzz or intonation problems, but the frets aren't polished well. You can see grinding marks on some of them and can feel friction on bends (I am spoiled by Parker's stainless steel mirror-polished frets though). I'll probably also put some locking tuners on it at some point (it's rock solid, I just think locking tuners are cleaner looking and easier to deal with on string changes).
