Another view of the newly de-fretted neck. Since I wasn't terribly careful pulling the frets up, you can see some chips in the fretboard from where the little teeth on the fret tangs ripped up the wood.
The neck isn't really very playable in this state since the fret slots are still there. Not only would it not be smooth, but it might not be strong enough like that to handle the string tension properly. That's why I'll be filling the slots with epoxy next.
