It plays pretty well, although it's going to take me a long time to really get the hang of it. Simple chord shapes are doable, but anything complex rapidly becomes impossible to play. People complain about the lack of sustain on fretless guitars but this one seems to do pretty well.

Without frets, of course, you need to rely a lot on muscle memory and your ear to get the intonation on notes exactly right. I'm hoping that my early years as a trombone player will be helpful for me on that front.

I've got some thicker flatwound strings coming in the mail that should also make it nicer to play and I plan on filing the nut down a lot more.

All in all, it's been a fun little project and it should be a fun toy for me to play with. If nothing else, people claim that playing a fretless guitar does wonders for your technique on a regular guitar.
